World’s largest music streaming service, Spotify has launched its operations officially in India to increase the number of online users in India. Their premium subscription price is Rs. 119 per month and Rs 1189 per year. Spotify also offers few top-up packs for those users who do not want to pay regularly. Top packs starts at as nominal as Rs. 13 for one day and as much as Rs. 719 for six months. User can decide pack according to their usage. Spotify also offering Student Discount in India as well and pricing for the students is Rs. 59 per month (if they take monthly subscription) or Rs. 66 for a one-month top-up. The sad news is, Spotify’s family subscription is currently unavailable in India.

Spotify is the music streaming service with highest number of paying subscribers in the World. Globally, India is the 79th country that Spotify as launched, and 11th country in Asia to get Spotify services. Spotify says it offers more than 40 Million songs and 3 Billion playlists. Spotify is well known for music streaming but it also features podcasts.

Not only will Spotify bring Indian artists to the world, we’ll also bring the world’s music to fans across India. Spotify’s music family just got a whole lot bigger,” said Daniel Ek, Spotify founder and CEO.
In free subscription of Spotify, it allows their users to listen the music for free but that comes at the cost of seeing ads which promotes users to upgrade themselves to the premium subscription. Free Users are also not able to store music offline. So, in short you have internet connectivity to play songs if you are a free Spotify user.
